QuaMa is a patented packaging concept for fruit and vegetables that enhances product life. Packed in QuaMa your products arrive at their destination in the best possible condition, without gas flushing and/or scavengers in the packaging.
The natural modified atmosphere keeps the products longer fresh and contributes to the healthy eating values of customers today. A modified humidity concept is also available for products – like bell peppers (capsicums) - that dehydrate easily. Because of the natural process the natural taste of the products will be preserved. The cover seal provides for maximum food safety.
QuaMa packaging consist of a patented box made of solid board, an inner lining and a plastic cover seal. The inner lining and the firmly fixed cover seal enable the creating of a natural modified atmosphere within the packaging. Smurfit Kappa also delivers the sealing equipment which can easily be implemented in existing packaging lines.
MA for fish
This patented concept is specially developed for the transport of fresh fish under modified atmospere. The air in the packaging is replaced by protective atmosphere which increases shelf life. The leakproof and smellfree packaging enables combined transport and storage with other cooled perishables.
