New banana consumer box introduced in Middle East
For NEH Philippines, Smurfit Kappa Trimbach has developed a new consumer box for 3 kg bananas. The new box, consisting of a white bottom and a full colour printed lid, was successfully introduced at the Eurofruit in Dubai.
The new 3 kg package will be used for the premium bananas of NEH Philippines, Dana and Delmon. Due to the innovative design the box can be used both as transport packaging as well as consumer packaging. The bananas are harvested and packed in the 3 kg box at the Philippines. After a sea trip of 3 weeks the boxes are unloaded in the Middle East and dispatched to the supermarkets. As a result of the attractive design and the small size of the box, the box is already classified as “buy-me-box”.
The introduction of the box at the Eurofruit Middle East Fruit congress in Dubai was a great success. Paul Smits, managing partner of NEH Philippines, about the cooperation with Smurfit Kappa Trimbach: “The 3 kg box is great. It was a success during the Eurofruit congress in Dubai. I'd say, bananas will never be the same again. Thanks a lot for the quality work!”
